EVENT organiser Eventa Management has been chosen to manage the UK Film Council's presence at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The festival, which started yesterday, is one of the most glamorous events in the film calendar.
This is the sixth time Liverpool-based Eventa has won the contract to work with the council in Cannes.
MERSEYSIDE digital entrepreneurs have found a new way to make use of a long trip to a conference - holding their own "unconference" on the bus journey.
Last Thursday saw the first-ever Tech Bus Tour collect people from Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds to take them to the Thinking Digital conference in Gateshead.
The tour was the brainchild of Katie Lips, of Liverpool web and mobile technology firm Kisky Netmedia, who says she wants to bring together creative and digital entrepreneurs from across the North.
She realised people from across the region were looking for ways to get to Gateshead for Thinking Digital, which runs until tomorrow, and decided to charter a coach to allow people to meet and share ideas before the event.
GOOD news is good, bad news is infinitely better.
No organisation or business can escape the threat of negative publicity. This has been brought into sharp focus by the recession, and the bad news swamping businesses large and small.
But the key for any organisation or business caught in the public eye is understanding the media.

MAC lovers and PC users are often at each other's throats - now Liverpool digital guru Steve Clayton is offering PC fans free stickers to showcase their allegiance.
Mr Clayton is giving out 10,000 "I'm a PC" stickers and asked LDP Creative to help distribute some of them. They are available from the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo reception, in Old Hall Street, Liverpool.
