Eventa wins Cannes International Film Festival deal
EVENT organiser Eventa Management has been chosen to manage the UK Film Council's presence at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The festival, which started yesterday, is one of the most glamorous events in the film calendar.
This is the sixth time Liverpool-based Eventa has won the contract to work with the council in Cannes.
The UK Film Centre is the second largest pavilion at the festival. Eventa will manage over 70 events over the 11-day event, including ministerial visits and screenings.
Eventa, run by Vici Ladeji, has run many high-profile events, including the Royal Variety Performance after-show party, in Liverpool.
It recently expanded with funding from Alliance Fund Managers and took on two new employees.
Ms Ladeji said: "We are always amazed at how surprised people are to see a Liverpool company organising such a huge international event in Cannes. We are very proud of the fact we are from Liverpool - the creative talent in the city is amazing, and we are happy to be part of it.
"Since we started managing the UK Film Centre, we have increased the attendance figures so that it now attracts over 14,000 delegates from 83 countries during the 11 days of the festival.
"To consistently deliver this event, year on year, in such a competitive market, demonstrates that businesses from the North West are more than capable of competing in the international business arena, despite the current climate."
