Liverpool Sound City celebrates musical youth
THE organisers of the Liverpool Sound City festival and music industry conference will this weekend celebrate the success of their project to help young people find new opportunities in the music business.
The project, delivered by Creative Ideas in Action, helped 35 young people from across the city learn new skills in music photography, music journalism and audio and lighting engineering.
On Saturday night the young people will show off their work at the Black-E in Chinatown before the event hosts a gig by Liverpool bands Red Deltas and Moguls.
Sound City director Dave Pichilingi said: "Providing the opportunity for young people from the region to meet with industry players in this type of pro-active setting is amazing and something we want to build on for next year."
