Hollyoaks producer Lime Pictures sees profits rise
HOLLYOAKS producer Lime Pictures has seen pre-tax profit rise, and says it is well-placed to maintain its current position despite tough competition.
According to the latest figures filed at Companies House, Lime Pictures Group saw profit on ordinary activities before tax for the 53 weeks to August 31, 2008, rise to ã6.4m - up from ã5.7m for the year to August 31, 2007.

The Childwall group, which also produced Grange Hill, was founded by Phil Redmond and was known as Mersey TV until it was sold to production company All3Media in 2005.
Lime director John Pfeil said: "The commercial environment in which the company operates remains competitive, but the directors believe that the company's position as a holding company of one of the leading television production groups will enable it to maintain its current position in the future.
"The key business risks and uncertainties affecting the company relate to the general economic environment, competition from other television producers and success of the company's programming."
Parent All3Media Holdings has also filed its accounts for the year ended August 31.
It reported a loss of ã45.5m for the year, though turnover rose from ã233.1m to ã374.6m.
In the report, Mr Pfeil, who is also All3Media's company secretary, said that it also faced tough times ahead as "the commissioning budgets of the group's principal customers are under significant pressure".
But Mr Pfeil said the group's portfolio of production companies provided "a greater level of geographic and genre diversity which lowers exposure to individual commissioning decisions."
Other All3Media companies include US company Zoo Productions and Hairy Bikers producer Cactus TV. All3Media is itself owned by private equity group Permira.
