Lancashire logo redesign 'cost nothing'
LANCASHIRE County Council has updated its red rose logo.
The redesign was completed by the council's in-house design team and is said to have cost nothing.
It cuts the stem off the old red rose and instead includes just a stylised view of the flower head.

But because it uses only two colours rather than three, council bosses hope it will save on printing costs.
Council leader Geoff Driver said: "The Tudor rose is a much-loved and well-known symbol of Lancashire and is part of our county's heritage.
"The new logo reintroduces the county's rose and mixes it with an up-to-date look.
"this will not cost us more money. The design was done in-house and will be much cheaper to print than the old logo with its three colours. And we will not be changing things like signs, uniforms and letterheads overnight - only when materials need replacing and have to be changed."

Dear sirs
How can the logo for Lancashire cost nothing?
Do the poor souls who work in-house get no salary? Do they work without light or heat?
Don't allow silly comments from bean counters to deflect from the skills of design and its true worth!
Good point - we mustn't underestimate the work of the in-house team. It should really read along the lines of "cost no extra". Thanks for your comment
