Liverpool first in North to hold a TEDx conference
A TECHNOLOGY, entertainment and design conference is taking place in Liverpool on Friday.
TEDxLiverpool is linked to the TED conference, an annual event where some of the world's leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about.
Speakers are given just 18 minutes to discuss their idea.
TEDxLiverpool will mix together videos from TED with live speakers at the event at International Centre for Digital Content at Liverpool Innovation Park.
The speakers are Steve Clayton, left, from Microsoft International's Business Strategy group who will be demonstrating Microsoft Surface; Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino, the chief executive of technology and design consultancy Tinker, and Alison Gow, the Liverpool Daily Post's digital editor.
TEDxLiverpool is the first of five conferences as part of TEDxNorth, with others taking place in Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle and Manchester in September and October.
