Rippleffect expands South Yorkshire email marketing work

DIGITAL agency Rippleffect is helping train passengers in South Yorkshire get connected through a new e-mail service it has designed.

The agency is working with public transport agency Travel South Yorkshire, which is now offering what it calls a "fully integrated information service" to its passengers.
Customers can now receive a full range of train, bus and tram travel updates by e-mail.
The move follows the launch in January of a similar service providing bus and tram commuters with instant timetable and schedule changes information.
More than 7,500 passengers signed up to receive the travel updates and Travel South Yorkshire expects this figure will increase significantly with the introduction of the rail function.
Alec Woolford, technical director at Trinity Mirror-owned Rippleffect, said: "Extending the system to incorporate rail travel allows Travel South Yorkshire to provide a more holistic and convenient customer experience.
"The integrated system which is complemented by an email marketing function provides users with up to the minute information on travel times and changes, as well as information on latest developments, discounts and incentives."
David Brown, director general of South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, said: "We appointed Rippleffect last year to develop an online system that would improve the information available to our bus and tram users.
"The system has achieved great success, with users receiving easily accessible relevant and accurate information, ensuring a more convenient and efficient travel experience.
"We've extended the system to rail travellers as it's important we continually improve the service we provide."
