Sainsbury's deal for marketing firm Access Point UK
SOUTHPORT promotional company Access Point UK has been hired by supermarket giant Sainsbury's to promote products and services in 475 UK stores.
Access Point will promote Sainsbury's "non-listed events programme" - promoting events or services not created by the supermarket itself.
It allows firms to occupy space within superstores for a set period to promote their goods and services to shoppers.
The appointment of Access Point UK follows a 13-week trial in 46 stores in the North West and the M4 corridor from June to September.
Access Point managing director David Robertshaw said: "It is great news for non-competing traders across the country that we have reached this agreement with such well respected and established retailer as Sainsbury's.
"Sainsbury's has a genuine interest in the viability of local trading centres and this is one way they can provide a platform for those traders to take advantage of the majority's bulk shopping habits.
"This deal will give local community businesses and organisations a real opportunity to reach Sainsbury's customers. We know from our own research that this type of activity has huge benefits and delivers high impact return on investment for businesses."
Access Point already works with major UK retailers including IKEA, Tesco, Morrison's and Homebase.
