Snowmen Stan and Ollie join Woolworths ad campaign
SNOWMEN Stan and Ollie are the faces of a huge TV Christmas ad campaign by Liverpool-based Shop Direct to promote its online Woolworths.co.uk lines.
The former Littlewoods group bought the Woolies brand earlier this year after the high street store chain collapsed.
Woolworths is now resurgent as an online trader and Shop Direct said more than 4m customers had visited its site since its June launch.
The new TV ads will promote the extensive toy range offered by Woolies.
Matthew Hardcastle, Brand Director at Woolworths.co.uk, said: "We want to entertain families this Christmas as well as deliver some fantastic offers.
"We think this campaign will make everyone smile, while reminding them that Woolworths.co.uk is the only place to shop for toys this Christmas season."
Snowmen Stan and Ollie will also feature in online ads and even have their own Facebook fan page and online photo diary.
To promote the campaign families will have the chance to win £300-worth of free gifts, delivered by Stan and Ollie.
Shop Direct is developing an extensive online retailing offer in a move away from its traditional range of printed catalogues.
