First Take plans expansion after winning loan
VIDEO production and training firm First Take is planning to expand its services after securing a loan from The Social Enterprise Loan Fund (TSELF).
Liverpool-based First Take, founded in 1983, works with a wide range of community and arts organisations.
It will use its ã37,500 loan from TSELF to invest in new equipment.
First Take director Lynne Harwood said: "The loan will help us to develop both the production and training sides of our business.
"On the production side, we are planning to move into features next year, and our talent development programmes for people who are under represented in the film industry will also benefit immensely as it will also allow us to develop training in new and emerging technologies."
TSELF, funded by the ã500,000 grant from the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund, awards up to ã50,000 to social enterprises.
Roy White, North West regional director at TSELF, said: "First Take offers something unique, working with diverse communities tackling cutting edge issues, and we are thrilled to be able to help such a creative organisation in this way."
