Audioboo founder and Bloodhound Gang drummer sign up to Liverpool Sound City
THE FOUNDER of podcast company Audioboo and the drummer with rockers The Bloodhound Gang will be discussing mobile apps at this year's Liverpool Sound City.
Sound City is this year offering an expanded conference for digital firms to focus on the way technology is transforming the music industry.
Organisers today said the event will include a panel on apps, featuring Audioboo founder Mark Rock and Adam Perry, who not only drummed in The Bloodhound Gang and British rock band A but also created BandApp and was the co-founder of Medical Records.
The other members of the panel will be Robert Thomas from Reality Jockey (RjDj) and Stephen O'Reilly of Mobile Roadie.
The festival has also announced that Alex White, chief executive of music analytics website Next Big Sound, will be presenting a keynote masterclass.
Next Big Sound measures how popular bands are online at sites including Facebook, Last.fm, Myspace and Twitter.
The site was named one of 10 Startups toWatch by Billboard magazine, while White himself was named in the magazine's 30 Under 30 list of music executives to watch.
Other speakers already confirmed for the Liverpool Sound City conference include Michael Breidenbrucker, CEO of RjDj and one of the founders of Last.fm.
Meanwhile Simon Raymonde, founder of record label Bella Union and former member of Cocteau Twins, will discuss the state of the music industry with Eric Pulido, guitarist with the band Midlake.
